The Words of God to Live our Lives By:

To Follow God, is to Walk in the Light as Christ is the Light:

Prayer in Jesus Name:

 1 Thes. 5:17
Pray without ceasing.

My heavenly Father, I ask that you would pour out the power of your Holy Spirit upon all who read this News Letter.  That they would be able to understand what you are about to show us through the Word of God.

 Acts 2:17-18
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: [18] And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

I also Pray that you would raise up Prayer Warriors who would Pray for all the Saints of God, that they would be able to stand firm in faith, walking in the Light of the Word of God.

 Ephes. 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

I also pray for the Lost who will read this, and for all those who would come under the conviction of the Holy Spirit.  I pray that they would  accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and the Lord of their Lives.  Father, I Pray all these things in the name of Jesus , A-Men:

Opening Scripture:

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Exhortations by the Holy Spirit:

1 John 2:8
Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.

To be able to walk and follow the Lord in the pathway of light, I must first know what true light is.  I must first learn what the Word of God has to say about this subject.  When I’m following God, my pathway will be made clear by the Light the Word of God.

 John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus Christ is what illuminates my pathway.  It is his light that is living within my heart that shines forth through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

 John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

I find that Jesus Christ is the Light of my life, and with him abiding within my heart.  No darkness can ever overtake me.

 John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

When I follow Jesus Christ, this last Scripture gives me a promise.  It tells me that I will have the Light of God guiding me as I walk in this pathway of life.  The light which I follow will give me the strength and power to be an overcome evil with good.

 1 John 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

When my life reflects the True Light of God that is when Jesus Christ will be seen working through me.  Thus, the pathway of the unsaved will then be illuminated so that they may be able see the road that leads to eternal life through Jesus Christ.

 John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

When Jesus Christ is allowed to shine through me that is when God can use His Light to draw others to Himself.

 John 1:9
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

When I’m walking in the True Light, I find that the Holy Spirit is always there to remind me of what Jesus spoke of.  For His Words are the true lights that will guide me as I follow in the footsteps of my Lord.

 John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

When I walk and follow the Lord I will also suffer some hardships that I must bear.  I must be willing to pick up my cross and follow the Lord wherever he leads.

 Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

I began to look into what it meant to pick up my cross and follow the Lord.  I found that my cross could be many things.  It could be an infirmity of the flesh, or a disability that I am afflicted with.  My cross could even be a personal dislike or a family member that I think could make me unable to perform a task.

 Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

I must look at my own and life in the light of the Word of God.  Then determine what my cross is.  And then I can learn how to bear it.  With this knowledge that I find in the Word of God, the Power of the Holy Spirit then enables me to bear the load and still follow the Lord’s pathway.

 Matthew 11:29-30
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Lord promises me that if I lay down my burdens, and allow myself to be Yoked together with Him.  The burdens that I must bear will become easy for me to live with, because he will be bearing most of the load himself.

 Psalm 55:22
Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

The burden that I must live with could be the thing that represents the Cross that I must bear.  I must lay down my burden at the Cross of Calvary, in order for Jesus Christ to bear the load with me.  For when the Lord carries my load, my burden becomes easier for me to bear.

 Philip. 4:13
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

The laying down of my burdens reminds me of this Hymn.

I Must Tell Jesus

I must tell Jesus all of my trials, I cannot bear these burdens a-lone;

In my distress He kindly will help me, He ever loves and cares for His own.

I must tell Jesus!  I must tell Jesus!  I cannot bear my burdens a-lone;

I must tell Jesus!  I must tell Jesus!  Jesus can help me, Jesus a-lone.

Matthew 8:24-25
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. [25] And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

The tempest of the sea in this last Scripture can represent the troubles and burdens that we try to bear alone.  But if we will just tell Jesus about them, he will help us to use his power to overcome them.

 1 Cor. 2:5
That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

I can either look at the burdens that I must bear as a hindrance or an asset.  To look at them as a hindrance is to allow them to control my life (Grieve the Holy Spirit) to stifle the power of God from within.

 Ephes. 4:30
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

When I look at the burden that I must bear as an asset, it can become a tool in which the Lord can work through.  Thus, proving that the work which is done through me is not done by me, but by the power of the Holy Spirit from within me.

 Zech. 4:6
Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.

In Closing:

I would like to encourage all who reads these words to stop and look at your own life through the Light of the Word of God.  Study the Word and you will find whether you are allowing the burden that you bear to hinder or further the work of God through you.  These words are meant to entice you into action for the Lord, and to give you encouragement to try new things for the Lord.  When we give it all to God, we will get in return all that God has to offer and even more than you can ever imagine.

Closing Prayer:

I pray that every person who reads this News Letter would come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour.

 Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

And for those who already know him as Lord, I Pray that they would become like Abraham, he was called the friend of God.

 James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
