This is a testimony of my life which was changed by God through the Death, the Burial and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I was born in Garden City Michigan on 7-9-1945. I started drinking at an early age, and it continued until I was 42 years old. I had four DWI’s in Michigan, two DWI’s while I was in the Army, and four more DWI’s in Michigan after I got out. I then moved to Abilene Kansas in 1983 where I got two more DWI’s. In all I had twelve DWI’s. And I still did not want to quit drinking because I loved to drink. The courts tried to get me some help by sending me to AA and to a Psychiatrist; all of that did not work.
I
started using drugs at a early age and again continued using then until
the age of 42 years old. I used just about every kind of drug that
I could get. I started with Marijuana and then gradually went from
there to other drugs.
I
started using tobacco at the age of 5 years old until the age of 42 years
old. In 1976 a doctor told me that I had pulmonary emphysema and
by the age of 45 I would have to be using oxygen to breathe and maybe using
a wheel chair because of the lack of oxygen in my blood, I still refused
to quit smoking.
And then one night in August, 1986, after I had been on a year long drunk following my divorce I was sitting on the edge of my bed wanting to have all my troubles end. I had lost my family, my children and everything that I loved. I found that nothing that I could do would help my life to change. On that night I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ, and I became a born again Christian. Nothing in my life was ever the same from that moment on.
I started my new life by getting out my Bible, and I began to read the New Testament. When I finished it I began on the Old Testament. By February, 1987, I had read the whole Bible from cover to cover. I did not understand much at first, but the Lord told me not to worry. I was to just read it, and he would help me to understand what I needed to know for now. In November, 1986, as I read the Bible I saw that I should be baptized, so I went to a preacher that I knew and asked him if he would baptize me. He then asked me this question. What about your drinking and smoking? I answered him by saying that the Lord would give me the strength to take care of those problems.
Many people might say that the Lord does not do miracles anymore. I will testify that I’m a walking miracle because the first of these was the day that the Lord saved my soul and gave me eternal life through His own death and resurrection.
From this time on things changed in my life; the Lord took my desire to use drugs away from me on January 1, 1987, and I have not used drugs again. I do not even like the smell of marijuana or cigarettes anymore. And then I started to hear the Lord speak to me, and I just new that it was Him. On April 26, 1987, the Lord told me (He impressed upon my heart these words) I was not to ever drink again. That is when I said yes to the Lord and found that the Holy Spirit would give me the strength to quit and the ability to stay sober even till this present time in my life. On March 10, 1987 the Lord Jesus Christ spoke to my heart and told me while I was being prayed for that I was to throw my cigarettes away. And if I would throw them away that very night He would heal my lungs. He then reminded me that if I started up again that I would surely die. He told me that it was up to me to decide to say yes and live, or to say no and die. I did say yes and the Lord gave me the strength to never smoke again. To this day my lungs have no signs of Pulmonary Emphysema, and I believe that this was just one of the many miracles that the Lord Jesus has done for me.
It was shortly after that I felt that the Lord wanted me to become an Evangelist. I did not know what to do but I knew I had to have a name for the ministry that the Lord was going to give me to work in. I tried to name it Charles F. Huse Evangelist Ministry but the Lord told me that He wanted me to name it the Holy Spirit Ministry. I asked Him why? He answered and reminded me that on the earth the work of the Lord is done through the Holy Spirit in the heart of every born again believer in Christ.
Since the time that the Lord has called me into the Holy Spirit Ministry He has allowed me to start writing the Holy Spirit Ministry News Letter and mailing it out to about 225 people in the USA and 13 in five foreign countries (five in India, two in the Phillippines, three in Indonesia, one in Germany, and three in Nigeria). The Lord as also given me the ability, to produce the Holy Spirit Ministry Web Page. Where the Lord can reach many more people with the Word of God to help them live their lives in a godly manner.
The
Lord used a Holy Spirit Ministry News Letter that I mailed to Brother Mano
Daniel in Madras, India, as a tool to open up the door for me to go to
India in November of 1999. While I was there preaching the
Word of God, the Lord gave me the opportunity to lead ten people in the
sinners prayer to invite Jesus Christ into their hearts. That was
when the Lord spoke to the hearts of Pastor M. Jaya Kumar and Evangelist
O. Ratna Kumar who had invited me to India to start the Holy Spirit Ministry
of India. The ministry was founded and began to grow and is
still growing, and many more lost people have come to know Jesus Christ
as their Saviour and Lord. All of this was done through the Grace
of God for His own Glory and Praise.
John 3:16
For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
There are many other things that I could write about in this tract concerning the things that the Lord has done for me and through me; but I must tell you about what you should do if you are to escape the trap that you may be living in, because there is no hope of escape apart from a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. If this tract has spoken to your heart and you feel that you need to do something about your life and you know that you cannot do it yourself, then I suggest that you take a Bible and start reading in the New Testament, the Book of John and the Book of Romans. They will tell you what you must do to be saved.
Romans 10:9
That
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe
in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
The
most important thing to do is to just start to read the Bible and pray
that the Holy Spirit would help you to understand what you need to know
to be saved. When you do this, you will find that the changing that
needs to be done will become easier when you allow the Lord to help you.
There is nothing that you can do to obtain salvation except to believe
on the name of Jesus Christ and allow Him to give you the free gift of
Salvation.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it
is the gift of God:
I would
like to pray a little closing prayer and ask the Lord to work in reader’s
hearts and show them through the words in this tract what they need to
do. I ask that the Lord would speak to the hearts of those who are
already saved that read this; that they might also do what the Lord would
have them to do. I also ask that the Lord would bless me with the
things that I need to do to grow closer to Him and to open up doors that
I could share what the Lord has done for me and through me to others.
