He has Risen, and He is Alive and He
lives in the Heart of every Born Again Believer in Christ.

John 3:2
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it
doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall
appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
When
I started to think about this subject, I found that I was called a
sinner, an enemy of God, a lost person without Christ, and many other
names before I became a Christian. I found that I was weak and had no
power to resist the many temptations that often come my way. I
was truly in a helpless state even though I was born again because I
was always trying to line up with the Word of God in my own will power
and resist saying that I am forgiven even when I am disobedient to
God. That is when the Holy Spirit reminded me to go to the Bible
and find out what names the Lord uses when He calls me, and he does so
by many different names. These are just a few of the names He
uses when he refers to me.
Gal. 2:20
I am Crucified with Christ, He lives in me:
2 Tim 2:21
I am a vessel: Honour:
1Cor. 1:2
I am a Saint of God:
2Cor. 5:17
I am a new Creature:
1 John 3:2
I am a Son of God:
Eph 2:19
I am a Member of the Household of God:
1Cor 6:19
I am a Temple of the Holy Spirit:
Rom. 8:37
I am a more than a Conqueror:
When I find myself in a time of temptations, I need
to find a way of escape. I find that the Word of God is the same
yesterday, today, and forever. And that I am not alone in this
temptation because many of the faithful goes through the same things
that I have to go through.
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such
as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
I must look to the Holy Spirit and
remember that I was crucified with Christ on the Cross of
Calvary. And just as the Lord told Isaiah, that when the enemy
comes in as a flood that He would raise up a standard against
him. He did that so that the enemy would fear the Name of the
Lord and flee. That is why I must remind the enemy at the time of
temptation what names the Word of God uses when it refers to me.
Isaiah 59:19
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from
the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy
shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a
standard against him.
And that standard is the Word of
God. That is why I must remember that I died that day with
Christ, and He paid the price of death, for my sins. On the third
day after His death the Holy Spirit brought Him back to life again, and
He now lives His life through me and He now lives in my heart.
Galatians
2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I
live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live
in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and
gave himself for me.
When I resist temptation I
must remember that this is not with a fight with my flesh but it is a
spiritual fight against the enemy of my soul. And therefore my
weapons in this fight are not carnal but they are spiritual, and the
only way to defeat them is through the Word of God.
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
That is why I
must have a God consciousness, always keeping in mind what God calls me
in the Word of God. I am new Creature in Christ, and I have the
Holy Spirit living in my heart; therefore I am not the same person I
used to be. I do not desire to do those things anymore because, I
no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
2Co 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become
new.
I’m a new person, I died on the Cross
of Calvary with Christ. I was raised from the dead with Christ by
the power of the Holy Spirit and now Christ lives in me.
John 1:12
But as many as received him, to them gave he power
to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
That power is the Holy Spirit living inside my heart, telling me, you
are not that person anymore. He tells me that I must remind the
tempter that he has no authority over me anymore. The Holy Spirit
reminds me that I now belong to the Lord and that I serve Him not
myself.
Ephesians 2:19
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of
God;
At that
point in time the Lord changed my status and made me a member of His
Holy Family. He gave me the power to be called a child of
God. I am no longer a foreigner out side the family of God, but I
am fellow citizen with all the Saints of God.
1 Corinthians 6:19
What? know ye not that your body is the temple of
the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not
your own?
I am the Temple of the Holy
Ghost. At the time that I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and
Saviour. The Holy Spirit came to live in my heart and I become a
holy vessel that the Lord lives in. When the temptation
comes the devil will tell me that I should just give up and enjoy
because, my flesh is weak. That is when I must remind myself and
tell the tempter that the old me died with Christ on the Cross of
Calvary. That I’m now the temple of the Holy Spirit and that He
gives me the power to continue to resist the tempter and all his
temptations.
1 Corinthians 1:2
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth,
to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with
all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord,
both theirs and ours:
I have been
sanctified by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I am called
to be a Saint of God with all who have called upon the name of Jesus
Christ to be the Lord and Saviour of their lives.
Ephesians 1:3-4
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in
heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before
the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame
before him in love:
I have been
blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ with all spiritual blessings. He
made me Holy and without blame. He made it possible for me to
stand in His presence and in His love.
Matthew 5:14
Ye are the light of the world. A city that
is set on an hill cannot be hid.
The Lord
says that I am the light of the world, and my light cannot be
hid. And the light that is within me also lights up my spirit to
show me who I really am in Him.
Romans 8:37
Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us.
The Word of
God say that I am more than conqueror through Christ who strengthens
me. And being a conqueror means that temptation itself cannot
conquer me. Because, the strength of Jesus Christ, the power of
the Holy Spirit and the Love of God that abides within me.
Gal 6:9
let us not be weary in well doing: for in due
season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Once I am
able to remember who and what the Lord calls me is when I will be able
to recognize the temptation is coming from the tempter and of myself.
And when I feel weak and want to yield to the temptation is when I must
submit myself to the Holy Spirit and He will give me the strength to
continue to resist.
James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he
saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
By
humbly submitting to the Holy Spirit God gives me power through His
grace to become more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ my Lord.
James 4:7
Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
When I submit
myself to the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit’s power to work through
me, the tempter (devil) will flee. It is because of the Comforter
which the Lord sent to abide within me that He reminds me of all the
things the Lord told His disciples when He walked among them.
Jn 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost,
whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things,
and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto
you.
I must always
remember that I have the Holy Spirit living in my heart. That He
will never lead me to do anything that is contrary to the Word of God
or my welfare.
James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am
tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth
he any man:
So with the Holy
Spirit living within my heart God enables me to walk as Christ walked
upon this earth serving others first and then myself. That is why
when temptations come, (and they surely will) that they come from the
devil not from God. When God allows temptations to come our way
He also makes a way for us to resist.
1Th 5:22
Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Sometimes, the things that I
am tempted to do seem to be alright at first thought. But
when I look at the thing that I am about to do through the eyes of the
Holy Spirit, I can see that it is going against what I am currently
trying to accomplish. Whether I am trying to control my weight,
or if I am thinking of having a drink of what ever, or even if I want
to watch some TV program just doing something too often or too much.
1Co 10:31
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or
whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
The thing that I am trying to avoid could be anything at all.
That is why I am to avoid even the appearance of evil, and do only
those things that bring glory to the Lord.
The
thing that I am trying to avoid could be anything at all. That is
why I am to avoid even the appearance of evil, and do only those things
that bring glory to the Lord.
James 1:14
But every man is tempted, when he is
drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
The temptation to do things that
are contrary to the will of God, which is pleasing to the flesh, will
come my way. But I have found that when I stop and think about
what I am being tempted with I find that the Holy Spirit will
give me the grace and the means to stop.
1Co 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is
common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be
tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make
a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
We are powerless to resist temptation
on our own. We must allow the Power of the Holy Spirit to reveal
the Word of God that is hidden within our hearts which is able to give
us a way to escape the temptation.
In Closing
I would like
to encourage all who read this Letter that the key to resisting
temptation that will surly come our way, lies in a living relationship
with the Lord Jesus Christ the one that died for the sins of the whole
world and who was raised back to life again on the third day so that
all who believe on His Name will be saved from eternal death and be
given eternal life. Also we must know who we are in Jesus Christ,
and that we have the Holy Spirit living within our hearts. Most
of all we must remember that we all have been given new names that the
Lord Jesus Christ uses when He talks about us as His disciples.
There is a Hymn that I sing in Church that speaks to this subject of A
New Name in Glory. This Hymn reminds me that I can resist the
temptations that come my way because of what the Lord did for me.
A
New Name in Glory C. Austin Miles
1.
I was once a sinner, but I came Pardon to receive from my Lord: This
was freely given, and I found that He always kept His word.
2. I was humbly kneeling at the cross, Fearing naught but God’s
frown; When the heavens opened and I saw That my name was written down.
3. In the Book ‘tis written “Saved by Grace” O the joy that came
to my soul! Now I am forgiven and I know By the blood I am made
whole.
Chorus
There’s a new name written down in glory, and
it’s mine, O yes it’s mine! And the white robed angels sing the story
“A sinner has come home” for there’s a new name in glory, and it’s
mine. O yes it’s mine! With my sins forgiven I am bound for
heaven, never more to roam.
A Closing Prayer
Father I come in prayer at the close of
this letter asking you to bless the words that are written here and
that you would save the lost that read them. That you would lead
those who are attending the wrong church but are saved to a good bible
preaching church. And that those who are saved but do not attend any
church at all that you would speak to there hearts and lead them back
into the fold. Father I ask that you would bless the Holy Spirit
Ministry and that you would provide the funding for this News Letter to
go out to all those who you would have to receive it.
2 Timothy 2:21
If a man
therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,
sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good
work.
I would like to invite all of the
